Rohan Sippy has come up with a romantic-comedy film starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Pooja Salvi, Evelyn Sharma and Gaelyn Mendonca.
Yet again, this story is about friendship and the bonding between Ram Parmar (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Mandar Lele (Kunaal Roy Kapoor).
Ram Parmar tells his Psychiatrist about his personal problems that he is experiencing due to three break-ups in last one months.
He begins his narration. Returning home after his performance in a theatre group Ram Parmar (RP) saves a man trying to commit suicide. This person is Mandar Lele who feels like a loser, as he has lost the love of his life Nandini (Pooja Salvi). Rejected in love, he has no desire to live.
RP is a theater artist playing the role of Raavana. Having saved Mandar’s life, RP brings him home. Being a goody guy he is, RP tries to solve Mandar’s problems and hence probes into his life.
To keep Mandar from drifting away, RP suggest that Mandar play the role of Lord Ram in his theater play. In the meanwhile, RP traces out Nandini and is keen to reunite her with Mandar,
In his attempt to re-unite the love birds, RP has to experience situations where he often has to lie to his girlfriend Chitra (Gaelyn Mendonca). Chitra finds out about RP’s lies and is firm to breaks up with him.
The funny part of this story is during his attempt to convince Nandini to come back to Mandar, Ram falls in love with her and so is Nandini who begins to like Ram.
Here, Mandar seems to come back to normalcy, and so then Ram realizes that he is now cheating his friend. RP breaks-off with Nandini and creates a situation where Nandini & Mandar to meet.
Unfortunately, things go wrong some where and then its chaos, comedy and heart break.
Overall the film and its entire star cast has the youth appeal and freshness. This is VJ turned actor Ayushmann’s second movie after Vicky Donor. It is Kunaal Roy Kapur’s second film post his role in Delhi Belly. The leading ladies – Pooja Salvi, Evelyn Sharma and Gaelyn Mandonca are quite okay in their performances.
Soundtrack of this film is romantic, lively and quite different. Ayushmann sings two songs Saadi Galli Aaja and Tu Hi Tu, which ought to do well.
Rohan Sippy’s lucky mascot and childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan has done a cameo in the film. A very nice story of RP and Mandar and it is about how they face problems and solve them.
The USP of this film is its comedy of errors and performances of its lead actors. Rohan Sippy has come up with something fresh and different.
